Our patient Sophie came to have a ganglion cyst surgically removed from her finger. Sophie tells us about her decision making process that led her to choose Skin Surgery Clinic and about her experience on the day as Mr Mather carried out her surgery. Watch her surgery here.
“I first noticed a cyst on my index finger, I think a couple of years ago, but it gradually grew over that period time, to the point where it was, just annoying for me.
I went to my GP about it and had an ultrasound, and was advised that, it couldn’t be drained because of its position, so I needed surgery.
I decided to skip the NHS waiting list and seek the procedure privately because I’m self employed and, I wanted to get earnings insurance which I couldn’t do whilst I was awaiting a surgical procedure.
I looked online for, surgeries local to me, and found the Skin Surgery Clinic, I contacted them and one other provider and the Skin Surgery Clinic got back to me, really quickly.
Their price structure was really, transparent and reasonable and, the team were really friendly, and accommodating and they got me booked in really quick.
I came for a consultation where I met the Doctor, Mr Mather and the nurses and I was just at ease straight away. The what to expect was explained really clearly. I knew what I needed to do for my recovery, and the risk were explained, and so I just felt really confident that this was what I wanted to do, and I wanted to book in with the Skin Surgery Clinic.
They could have booked me in really, really soon. It was my work schedule that meant I needed to leave it. I think three weeks, so really, really quick.
I came back and when I arrived for the procedure, again met with, Mr Mather and his colleagues and again, felt really at ease. The teams were super professional and friendly, and they were with me throughout the whole procedure explaining everything, and I felt really comfortable throughout.
It was very quick, completely painless, and I’m looking forward to the recovery now.”
