Many of our treatments and procedures at our Leeds-Bradford Clinic and our Harrogate Clinic take place in our dedicated Minor Operations Suites (MOPS). Here you can learn about the MOPS facilities and how our medical team use them.
The Suite
The MOPS suites are purpose-built and each location MOPS comprises of a consultation room, a changing room, a minor operative preparation room, a minor operations procedure room and a recovery room.
As patient privacy is key to your experience, these rooms means that the MOPS are self-contained so that your whole treatment is performed in the suites. Our patients tell us they enjoy the spaciousness of the rooms and the guaranteed privacy of the recovery room, where they are able to recover in comfort.
State-of-the-art ventilation systems perform fifteen air changes per hour, and includes air conditioning to make patients’ time in the suite as comfortable as possible.
The Procedures
The MOPS hosts traditional surgical procedures, such as our biopsy and histology service, scar revision, cyst removal and earlobe reconstruction.
It also provides our doctors and consultants the facilities for laser procedures including mole removal, skin lesion removal and Rhinophyma treatment.
Maintenance and Hygiene
A purpose-built clinical facility will not remain of a high standard for long without regular maintenance and cleaning. The MOPS suites are cleaned by one of our Nurses at the end of every clinic and they are deep cleaned every month.
We carry out an infection control audit every month and the relevant training for infection control is above the national standard.
All of our surgical equipment is sterile and single-use; meaning they are thrown away after each procedure. Our medical grade lasers are maintained by a specialist company on a yearly basis and any reported fault will trigger an automatic on-site engineer inspection before another procedure is carried out.
The Medical Team
We’re very proud of our experienced and expanding team of Consultants, Doctors and Nurses. All of our Consultants and Doctors still work within the NHS at local hospitals and GP surgeries.
All of our nurses are trained in intermediate life support (ILS).
