Robert came to us after waiting nearly six months through the NHS, only to be told they don’t perform cyst removals and that he would need to go private. During that time, the cyst continued to grow so he decided to take action and came to us to have it removed by Mr David Watt.
“I went through the NHS and waited nearly 6 months to be told that they don’t do cyst removals and I would have to go private. During this period the cyst continued to grow and grow, it got worse as I left it waiting for the NHS.
I contacted the Skin Surgery Clinic and was given a date for the procedure in less than a week having sent pictures of my cyst.
I was very nervous leading up to the procedure as it was on my face and I feared a large scar afterwards making me very self-conscious in the future.
The procedure was completely painless and Mr Watt was very gentle and careful. I hardly felt the anesthetic needle. A small dressing was put on which lasted a week and when it came off there was a small scar that Mr Watt assured me would fade over time by applying scar gel (and he was proved right).
After the treatment I felt relieved and much more confident going out. The cyst had grown so big waiting for an NHS appointment that people were looking at the cyst and even asking me what it was. I stopped going out for a while as I had become so self-conscious of the large cyst on my face.
To someone with the same problem I would say go straight to the Skin Surgery Clinic. Apparently the NHS stopped removing cysts in 2008 so what was I waiting for. Disappointed the two GP’s I saw didn’t seem to know this as they just put me on lists! If I had gone when I saw the first GP it would cost me half the price I paid but as I waited and it got massive I had to pay more but I am so pleased I paid the money.
The Skin Surgery Clinic was fantastic from day one. The receptionists were polite and helpful and the nurses were excellent and really cared. Mr Watt was a fantastic surgeon who gave me back my self-confidence by removing the hideous cyst that just kept growing and left me with the tiniest of scars, that even my friends and partner were impressed with.
