Specialist Dermatology in Leeds at our Award-Winning Private Skin Clinic.
Many patients need to see a private Dermatologist in order to address a condition more quickly than is possible through the NHS. Other patients require specialist medical attention to an aesthetic concern that is affecting confidence and self-esteem.
At Skin Surgery Clinic we welcome all patients with a wide range of skin complaints. We aim to offer everyone a individualised approach to their skin.
Who should consider a Dermatology consultation?
Dermatology appointments are suitable for patients with both chronic and acute conditions.
Waiting lists within the NHS sadly make it difficult to see a specialist for many ongoing skin conditions. These conditions often impact a patient's quality of life through symptoms like pain, irritation, dryness and discolouration.
Dermatology is also suitable for patients with more urgent concerns. We offer a complete skin cancer service including screening, diagnosis and treatment.
After diagnosing your condition, our Consultants can review your condition in a follow-up consultation, arrange treatment through our clinic, or refer you back to the NHS for your treatment.
What will happen when I see the Dermatologist?
Our Dermatologists provide face-to-face consultations. The fee for new consultations is from £195. A follow-up Review appointment that takes place in the six months after your original consultation is discounted to £165.
Our consultations are all in-person appointments where you will meet your Consultant in a room at our clinic. They will listen to your skin concerns and medical history, and examine the affected area(s). They will then make a diagnosis and discuss your options for treatment.
Can the Dermatologist make a prescription?
Yes. Depending on your diagnosis and treatment plan, your Dermatologist may prescribe medication for you.
Our prescriptions can be fulfilled by any pharmacy.
Private prescriptions often cost more than from the NHS as you will be asked to pay the cost of the medicine rather than the flat rate NHS prescription charge.
If this is of concern, your Consultant can alternatively request that your NHS GP prescribes the same medication to you. We will write to your GP after your appointment with us. A GP will often be happy to act on your Dermatologist's recommendation but they may want to discuss the Dermatologist's letter with you.
