Background
Dr Salphale is a highly experienced locum Consultant Dermatologist who works within the NHS at the University Hospital of North Durham.
He received his undergraduate medical degree in India, qualifying from Nagpur University in 1997, and then earned his dermatology specialist qualification from the esteemed Christian Medical College, Vellore, India. He has been working in the UK for four years after working as an Assistant Professor in India and then as a staff Dermatologist with the Ministry of Health in Brunei (South East Asia).
Dr Salphale has also received a fellowship in Dermatopathology from Dermatologikum Hamburg, Germany.

Dr Salphale has a broad range of expertise in dermatology, ranging from seeing common skin conditions including medical dermatology. In the NHS, his interests include contact dermatitis, medical dermatology and psoriasis.
He is a principal investigator at his hospital for nationally sponsored research on contact dermatitis and has several dermatology publications and book and journal reviews to his credit.
